Acton Gardens Community Fridge

The Acton Gardens Community Fridge is an initiative aiming to tackle food waste and food poverty.

In Partnership with the Felix Project, food donations are received once a week on Tuesdays. Our team of volunteers then prepare food bags which are collected by residents in and around Acton Gardens.

Food waste is a big issue in the UK. The average household throws away £470 worth of food every year and at the same time 4 million people in the UK are living in food poverty. Most food waste in the UK (4.1 million tonnes or 61%) is avoidable and could have been eaten had it been better managed.

We welcome food donations, so if you want to help please drop your donation Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm at the community centre.

Please note we only accept non-perishable items.

If you would like to volunteer, please email volunteer@actongardens.community or call us on 020 8075 5240.
